Luxury close to nature

Eco-hotel

A nature-friendly hotel!

Dr Irena Eris SPA Hotels combine not only sumptuous relaxation and luxury, but also prioritise environmental responsibility. Our actions are not an attempt to follow trends, but an expression of concern for the environment in which we operate. That's why we are delighted and dedicated to contributing to environmental sustainability, reducing the environmental impact of our operations, reducing our carbon footprint and utility consumption, and promoting environmental awareness. We are deeply committed to ensuring that you can enjoy a fantastic stay with us while respecting nature.

How do we take care of the environment?

26 OF OUR GREEN PRACTICES

Rooms and bathrooms

  1. Guests are encouraged to change towels and linens upon request, which saves water and energy, and reduces the use of detergents.
  2. In place of mini bathroom toiletries, we have introduced reusable bulk dispensers that we refill before guests arrive at our doors.
  3. Plastic cotton buds have been replaced with bamboo equivalents.
  4. We only use biodegradable bags in bathroom bins, and biodegradable cleaning products.
  5. Our rooms are furnished with separate recycling bins for paper, glass and mixed rubbish.
  6. To save energy, LED lighting has been installed wherever possible. In addition, bathroom magnifying mirrors are equipped with discreet LED lighting, eliminating the need to turn on brighter lighting at night.
  7. Each room features a magnetic card reader for the room key. Removing the card turns off the electricity in the entire room.
  8. We use aerators on taps in bathrooms to reduce water consumption.

Common spaces

  1. Instead of plastic bags, we have introduced reusable bags made with natural fabrics.
  2. In less frequented areas, we installed motion sensors that turn lights on as needed.
  3. Bicycles and service stations are available at each facility, so guests can enjoy an environmentally friendly mode of transportation.
  4. For guests travelling in electric cars, we have installed charging stations that they can use free of charge.
  5. We replaced plastic pens with pencils.
  6. We rely on renewable energy sources, having installed photovoltaic panels on the roofs of our SPA hotels.
  7. We do not set off fireworks on New Year's Eve or during other events and parties. Instead, we donate to a selected wildlife rescue and conservation organisation in December.
  8. We monitor the consumption of utilities at Dr. Irena Eris SPA Hotels, optimise parameters and immediately identify possible failures.
  9. We are committed to introducing more sustainable practices and educating our employees about environmental issues.

Restaurant and kitchen

  1. We replaced plastic straws for drinks in bars and restaurants with paper ones.
  2. We have significantly reduced the use of stretch film in the hotel kitchen to a bare minimum.
  3. Lunch boxes are provided in paper bags.
  4. During conferences and in our rooms, we serve mineral water only in glass bottles.
  5. During outdoor catering and events, we serve food on organic tableware (made of oat bran), and provide wooden cutlery.
  6. Vegetarian and vegan menus are available at our restaurants.
  7. In the kitchen, we use only eggs from free-range hens.
  8. We support local entrepreneurs and small manufacturers who produce food organically. We order their products for our restaurants and promote these goods and their producers during our flagship Dr. Irena Eris Tasty Stories project.
  9. Our chefs value the preservation of culinary heritage by spotlighting regional delicacies. Many of these delicacies are handmade, including sourdough bread, honey from the hotel's apiary, and preserves.
